Data Sources & Methodology
Transparency is fundamental to market infrastructure. Every record on MACOMX answers four questions before it is displayed.
Where did it come from?
A named source, not an aggregate. Linked to the original publication wherever one exists.
When was it published?
Reporting period and last-updated date, shown at the record, not buried in a footer.
Reference or executable?
Market context and an executable quote are never displayed as the same kind of number.
Has MACOMX confirmed it?
Verification level is explicit, and unverified is a valid, visible state.
Four categories of data
Everything on this platform belongs to exactly one. They are never mixed inside a single figure.
Published by institutions
Government agencies, official institutions and official compute infrastructure platforms. Used for national and regional statistics, capacity, infrastructure development, utilisation and policy indicators.
Official data does not mean executable capacity.
Public market information
Publicly available compute product, capacity or pricing information that may legally be displayed or referenced. For market intelligence only.
Never shown as a firm bid, firm ask, or available for immediate execution.
Submitted to MACOMX
Capacity submitted directly by a data centre, compute provider, cloud provider or GPU infrastructure operator.
Status depends on what the provider has authorised: reported, confirmed, indicative or firm ask.
Generated by activity here
Firm bid, firm ask, matched price, executed price, verified capacity and verified GPU-hours — data that exists because a transaction happened on MACOMX.
At V0.1 this category is empty. It is not simulated.
Official sources we track
The initial source list. It expands over time, and each addition is recorded with the date it entered.
National
- National Data AdministrationOfficial
- Ministry of Industry and Information TechnologyOfficial
- National Integrated Compute NetworkOfficial
Used for national compute capacity, monitoring, computing hubs, integrated infrastructure and regional development.
Provincial & municipal platforms
- Inner MongoliaOfficial
- TianjinOfficial
- ShanghaiOfficial
- Suzhou / JiangsuOfficial
- Ningxia · Sichuan · Guizhou · GansuOfficial
Telecom operators
- China Mobile · China Telecom · China UnicomReference
Operator product information is reference data. It is never treated as MACOMX inventory unless the operator has authorised it.
How data enters the platform
V0.1 is a manual process by design. The architecture is built so the same records can later arrive by API without redesigning anything a user sees.
Identify
The team identifies an official or public source.
Confirm
Publication date and the definition of the metric are confirmed.
Enter
The record is entered with source, reporting period and unit.
Classify
Source type is set. Market status defaults to Reference.
Review
Verification level is set. Firm status is never assigned automatically.
Publish
The record appears with its attribution attached to it.
Rules we hold ourselves to
Official and public market information is provided for informational and market-intelligence purposes and does not constitute an executable offer unless specifically marked as Firm Bid or Firm Ask.
The national indicators shown on this site were provided to MACOMX with their issuing body and reporting period. Direct links to each original publication are being added; until a link appears next to a figure, treat the issuing body and reporting period as the attribution of record.
